Research Funding Proposal Outline

An outline allows a writer to categorize the main points, to organize the paragraphs into an order that makes sense, and to make sure that each paragraph/idea can be fully developed. Essentially, an outline helps prevent a writer from getting stuck when performing the actual writing of an essay, lab report, or research funding proposal.

As a means to keep you on a productive drafting timeline, you will need to submit an outline for your RFP assignment.

This outline should contain an indented list that covers all of the sections required for the RFP assignment:

  1. Purpose and Objectives
  2. Background
  3. Methods
  4. Budget
  5. Timeline

This outline is intended to help you plan how you’re going to move forward with the RFP. You can be as detailed or as vague as you want, but I encourage you to make this assignment useful in some way. Don’t worry about word count here. Instead, draft an outline that will help you write your RFP by the deadline.
